Day 16

Ok, so I juice about 20 oranges a week, sometimes more.  I do not have a compost yet, so I have to throw all that good stuff away.  /cry  Today, I remembered a DIY vinegar citrus solution I had seen on Pintrest.  So I peeled my oranges, and lemons and set them aside.  It took me 5 minutes to make this….

I am so happy to have a place for my oranges and lemons!  No more waste!

DIY Citrus Vinegar Cleaning Solution
Makes one quart

2 Lemons
2 Oranges
vinegar
water (used later, see below)

1. Peel, leaving just the outer skin and the white pith.

2. Add to a quart size jar. Fill with vinegar and cap the jar. Let sit for about 2 weeks, then strain out the peels. Rinse out the canning jar. Add the strained liquid back to the jar & cap. This is the concentrated cleaning solution.

3. To prepare for use you will need a clean spray bottle (size of your choosing) and a funnel. Fill the spray bottle 3/4 of the way up with water. Using the funnel, pour in the citrus vinegar mix into the spray bottle. Shake to combine. Store this solution in the fridge.

Day 17

When it comes to juice, I don’t think you can have too many recipes.  The juices I am listing have specific purposes.  Enjoy!

Digestion – 

1/2 cucumber
1 green apple
1 stalk fennel with leaves
2 sprigs of mint
1/4-1/2 inch piece of ginger

Blood Builder (rich in iron) –

2 bunches Grapes
6 Oranges
8 Lemons peeled
1/4 cup Honey
Water

Stomach Cleanser – 

1 bunch Grapes
1 basket Strawberries
3 Apples
4 sprigs Fresh Mint
Water

Constipation Cure – 

1 firm Papaya
1/4-inch slice Ginger Root
1 Pear
Water

Skin Cleanse – 

1 Cucumber with skin
1/2 bunch Fresh Parsley
1 4-oz. tub Alfalfa Sprouts
4 Sprigs Fresh Mint
Water

High Blood Pressure Reducer – 

2 garlic cloves
1 handful parsley
1 cucumber
4 carrots with tops
2 stalks celery

another:

2 tomatoes
2 apples
1 clove of garlic
sprig of parsley

Potassium Juice – 

3 carrots
3 stalks celery
½ bunch spinach
½ bunch parsley

Fertility –

3 hard pears
1 cantaloupe
1 sweet potato

Aches and Pains – 

1 lemon
1 orange
3 hard pears
3 apples

Brain Stimulator – 

1 oranges
1 hard pears
1 yam
1 grapefruit
1 apple

Cancer Killer – 

1 beet
1 carrot
1 celery stick
1/2 potato
1 radish

Bladder – 

2 apples
1 1/4 cups of cranberries

3 celery stalks

Day 18

While I feel everyone can benefit from a juice cleanse or detox, those experiencing detox overload really need to look into juice cleansing/detox for better health!

Here are a few common symptoms of toxic overload:

Day 19

I took some time this morning to weigh and do some measurements.  I wanted to share some overall progress.

started at 148 lbs

As of today I am at 135lbs

I started juicing late January.  While the blog says “day 19” it is actually day 21 for me.

More measurements:

Waist: 36 —–> 31.5

Hips: 39 —–> 36.5

Thigh: 24 —–> 22.5

Arm: 13.5 —–> 13

Total inches lost: 9 inches 

Total lbs lost: 13lbs

5 lbs of fat!

Now double that! and add 12 more sticks of butter.  I have lost 52 sticks of butter!  Hahaha, Nice!

Day 20

SHABBAT SHALOM!

Thus heaven and earth were completed with all their array. On the seventh day God had completed the work he had been doing. He rested on the seventh day after all the work he had been doing. God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on that day he rested after all his work of creating (Gen 2:1-3).

“Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘These are my appointed feasts, the appointed feasts of the LORD, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies. There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work; wherever you live, it is a Sabbath to the LORD’” (Lev 23:1-2).

He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. And he stood up to read (Luke 4:16)

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; 
   I will be exalted among the nations, 
   I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10

Day 21

It has taken me so long to write this “day 21″ post.  I know I am ready to end the “mommy’s losing it” blog posts, but have been trying to figure out how.  I have learned a lot while on this “partial” fast.  I say “partial” because, I did not only juice.  Because it was my first time, I still ate raw.  Most of my nutrients came from juice.  For several days I only juiced, but not long enough to call it a strict juice fast.    All other days I ate at least one salad.  I did not eat anything cooked.  My body was still able to detox, and I feel great!

I will be doing more strict juice fasts in the future.  This experience was very positive and, honestly, a lot of fun.  I was able to break any food addictions, including sugar, caffeine, starches, etc.  I did not feel cravings or hunger.  The juice was very satisfying.  That is not to say everyone will experience the same thing.  I am only giving my account, I believe everyone’s body is treated differently so everyone’s experience will be different.

I will continue to juice several times a day.  I like knowing I am getting so many nutrients and am doing something so healthy.  I simply love the way I feel.

I recommend reading lots of books on the subject and scouring the internet for information.  Obviously, if you have any health problems or are concerned in the least, consult a physician.  Preferably one who is in favor of juicing.
